Flotation Deinking VS Washing Deinking

flotation-deinking-vs-washing-deinking

Paper Pulp deinking is mainly for pulp purifiation. Flotation deinking and washing deinking both are for paper pulp deinking, so what’s difference between flotation deinking and washing deinking?

Flotation Deinking And Washing Deinking Compare

Washing Deinking: Washing deinking is the earliest traditional deinking method. The principle of deinking is based on the process of hydraulic separation, the ink particles is small (1~10mm), good dispersion and good hydrophilicity. Washing Deinking is most useful for removing particles smaller than about 30 µm, like water-based inks, fillers, coating particles, fines and micro stickies.

Washing Deinking is more clean, the pulp has a higher whiteness, low ash content, deinking operation is easy, the process is simple and stable, low power consumption, low cost. The disadvantage is large water consumption, large fiber loss. Washing deinking is suitable for small pulp mills or requiring lower ash content waste paper deinking.

Flotation Deinking: It utilizes the different surface energies of the particle components such as fibers, fillers and inks to achieve separation. Hydrophobic particles or particles that are converted from hydrophilicity to hydrophobic particles by means of surfactant to adsorb air bubbles on the pulp suspension and are separated from the hydrophilic pulp fibers by buoyancy.

Flotation Deinking has the advantage of less fiber loss, high yield, less chemicals and water consumption, light pollution. Although the pulp whiteness is lower than the washing deinking, the comprehensive effect is better than the washing deinking, save time, water and provincial chemicals, high yield of deinked pulp, is the waste paper deinking development direction.
